Brindle Weather Bulletin 0040
1PM EST
March 15, 2026
Mid-Atlantic Region
...BRINDLE WEATHER BULLETINS PAUSED...
Brindle Weather bulletins have been paused at this time. On March 15th, winter weather forecasting by Brindle Weather ended for the region since significant snow events are not expected until the next Winter season. In addition, Brindle Weather won't be issuing bulletins this Spring. For severe weather forecasts, although Brindle Weather won't be making forecasts, you can get official NWS forecasts at spc.noaa.gov. Here is the climate outlook for this Spring:
Brindle Weather Spring Climate Outlook: Throughout the remainder of March and early April, several moderate to strong cold front systems will move through the Mid-Atlantic region, bringing a cycle of warm temperatures and storms followed by cooler weather. Many quick temperature shifts are likely this Spring, which is typical for March/April. Some of these cold front systems will bring severe weather, including damaging winds and tornadoes. See the NWS Storm Prediction Center for daily severe weather forecasts. Snow is generally unlikely at this point in Spring, but the Appalachians may continue to see minor snowfall events through April, especially after strong cold front systems bring quick bursts of colder weather. After April, warm temperatures and occasional chances of thunderstorms will continue.
The next Brindle Weather Bulletin will be Bulletin #0041, which will be issued later this year.

Update on the 2025 & 2026 Severe Weather Trackers: The 2025 Severe Weather Tracker is no longer being updated and can be found at www.brindleweather.com/archives (it also contains extra info on the worst 2025 severe weather events in the Mid-Atlantic).
The 2026 IAD Severe Weather Tracker is now visible and will be regularly updated. It is located at www.brindleweather.com/severe. Note that the SPC will be making significant changes to their forecasts, which will affect SPC forecast related data collection on the 2026 version of the tracker. As a result, expect a few changes to the 2026 IAD Severe Weather Tracker this year.
All long term severe weather graphs (visible on both the 2025 and 2026 severe trackers) have been updated with data from 2025 collected for IAD. A new heat alert graph was also added.Β
